Acupuncture

An ancient art of medicine practiced in China over 3,000 years ago to help with not only headaches and pain, but dis-eases such as depression/anxiety, hormonal imbalances, IBS, etc. The art of the practice comes in the doctor’s ability to choose precise acupuncture points customized to your detailed history of imbalances and symptoms. In doing so, the healing process can begin by stimulating these points with very thin acupuncture needles.

Acupuncture and Oriental medicine is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and National Institutes of Health (NIH). The 1997 NIH Consensus Conference on Acupuncture stated, “The data in support of acupuncture are as strong as those for many accepted Western medical therapies. One of the advantages of acupuncture is that the incidence of adverse effects is substantially lower than that of many drugs or other medical procedures used for some conditions.”

Acupuncture treatment uses the insertion of thin disposable needles which cause a rise in endorphins, vasodilation of the blood vessels, and promotes circulation of Qi(energy) along the meridian systems. As a result, pain and discomfort is reduced and tissues heal. Acupuncture is often an effective therapy for other chronic and painful debilitating disorders which have no clear explanation or origin in the traditional western medical model.

Physical Therapy

Not every sport requires the same training regimen and neither does every patient. Some patients will require basic exercises whether related to conditioning, balance, strength, or flexibility. Others might require sports specific training. This is what you can expect out of the physical therapy and rehab done here — the right amount of challenge, attention to detail, and customized treatment plans. Similar to our chiropractors, the physical therapists within our network are all very hands-on and manual based which makes the whole team interchangeable if need be.

Nutrition

Nutritional Supplementation is just that, supplemental. With the right meals, eating habits, and life-styles, nutritional gaps can be filled naturally. However, that statement is very ideal and not always realistic which is why supplements can be important. Ask your provider for their recommendations today.

  • Whole food supplements can fill in the dietary gaps when certain foods are not in your regular meal plans and/or taste-buds. We utilize Standard Process as our whole foods supplement line.
  • Chinese Herbology can be used to target a imbalance within the body with greater specificity when needed to further promote harmony. We utilize Sun-Ten herbal supplements and Supreme Nutrition.
  • Highest grade and regulated nutraceuticals get you to a healthier baseline as needed. Our nutraceuticals are potent medical grade vitamins, nutrients, and foods that can be used for specific conditions. We utilize Metagenics and Thorne.

Class 4 Laser Therapy

Class 4 laser therapy uses specific wavelengths of light to create therapeutic effects. The light that is transmitted via the laser helps stimulate certain processes within the body that help provide relief to symptoms including pain, swelling, and limited range of motion.

The wavelength of the laser used in Class 4 laser therapy penetrates deeper and more efficiently than the Class 3 laser allowing it to pass energy to the nerve, muscle, ligament, and tendon tissue in a short amount of time. In fact, most sessions range from 2-6 minutes which means we can treat injured tissue in multiple areas in a single session thus improving your results.

Class 4 laser therapy stimulates the production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) which drives many of the processes within our cells. This increased production of ATP helps speed up the healing process within cells. In the video, Dr. Blake explains that as a result of increased ATP production the patient experiences an improvement of symptoms, including reduced pain, swelling, and range of motion and of course, the heat from the laser is soothing as well.

The benefits of class 4 laser therapy include reduced pain and swelling as well as improved range of motion but a class 4 laser has some very interesting effects that we don’t notice as obviously. A class 4 laser increases tissue regeneration which is why you heal faster but it also accelerates soft tissue and bone repair. This kind of laser therapy can also improve nerve regeneration & function as well as impact your cells to increase cell metabolism, enzymatic responses, collagen production, and promote angiogenesis (the creation of new blood vessels). So yes, you walk away from class 4 laser therapy feeling better but the therapy continues to work on the cellular level to improve your musculoskeletal health after you leave the office.
